Moving a photograph from screen to print changes the way colour, contrast and detail are seen. A reliable print workflow starts with the intended paper, print size and viewing conditions.
Prepare a useful test print
Choose an image containing important skin tones or colours, fine detail and a range from shadow to highlight. Check the lab’s file requirements, including profile handling and whether automatic adjustments will be applied. Avoid making several conflicting corrections at once.
Evaluate a test under consistent light and keep notes about the file and paper. If you change the image, compare the next print with the previous one so the effect of the adjustment is clear.
