A digital-photography learning workflow connects capture, editing and output. Start with the destination so that decisions about crop, colour and size serve the finished photograph.
Keep edits reversible
Retain an unmodified original and save a separate working version. Make broad tonal and colour adjustments before local refinements, then inspect the exported file in its final context. A small web image and a print may need different delivery settings.
For a useful comparison, process one photograph in two restrained ways and view both at the same size. Decide which version supports the subject, rather than treating a stronger effect as an automatic improvement.
